skylee Posted July 14, 2011 at 12:46 PM Report Posted July 14, 2011 at 12:46 PM I read this magazine on my way home today and I just wonder how true this statement/comment (page 35) is - 拿着南非護照,感覺去很多國家都會被留難,往哪裏都要花幾個星期甚至幾個月辦簽證,有時甚至要特意回南非申請。 Quote
HedgePig Posted July 14, 2011 at 10:58 PM Report Posted July 14, 2011 at 10:58 PM Hello skylee That article is about the difficulty of using a South African passport, right? (IMy Chinese isn't good enough to fully understand that but I think I got the gist of it with the help of google.) A South African passport holder certainly needs visas for many more countries than a Britsh/EU/American/Australian/Japanese/Singaporean/HK passport holder would but I don't think it's any worse than for citizens of many other developing or third world countries. I wonder if the article is referring to the apartheid years? Prior to about 1995, there were many countries that simply wouldn't let South Africans enter at all - most African countries and many Asian countries included. Quote
