Sideways Characters in QQ

If I remember right, this is a font issue. Several Chinese fonts have two versions which show up in the font list, one with an @ sign before. For example, I have both MingLiU and @MingLiU. The former displays the font normally, while the latter displays it sideways, as you show.

Try switching your font to a generic font such as Times New Roman or Calibri and see if it makes a difference.
