Hofmann Posted July 19, 2011 at 10:42 AM Report Share Posted July 19, 2011 at 10:42 AM You probably have fonts necessary. I recommend changing the encoding until you see something that makes sense. From looking at the short examples you've provided, it seems like GB 2312 is most likely.
c_redman Posted July 19, 2011 at 02:11 PM Report Share Posted July 19, 2011 at 02:11 PM It is GB2312. The garbled text translates to {登录密码", "登 录}. Which OS, which software, and which default language? Sometimes, the OS settings are right, but some Chinese web pages claim to be Unicode when they are really GB (or, more commonly, Big5 for Taiwanese sites). Firefox has a forced character encoding that can fix this for an individual page. But if you are seeing this on every page, the problem may be elsewhere.
