Dutch Posted December 17, 2004 at 10:51 AM Report Posted December 17, 2004 at 10:51 AM Hello forumites, I have a few hours transit stopover in Hong Kong and I would like to use this chance to stock on traditional Chinese merchandise - traditional medicine stuff and teas. I wonder if there's a good source of those in close vicinity to the airport. Thanks for any help . Quote
confucius Posted December 18, 2004 at 11:06 AM Report Posted December 18, 2004 at 11:06 AM Your best bet is simply the shops inside Hong Kong airport. Medicines and teas are available at Watson's and other stores that you'll find in both the departures and arrivals halls. I recall seeing one small shop that specializes in Chinese traditional medicines and teas, but do not remember its name. Quote
Dutch Posted December 18, 2004 at 11:20 AM Author Report Posted December 18, 2004 at 11:20 AM Thanks, Confucius. By the way, you've got great page about Beijing, great advices :-) . Are the goods sold in the airport of about the same quality & value as outside? AFAIK usually the duty free stuff is overpriced and the selection is worse... Quote
confucius Posted December 18, 2004 at 11:25 AM Report Posted December 18, 2004 at 11:25 AM Yes, the goods I saw in Hong Kong airport were the same quality as what is available in Hong Kong department stores. Check Watson's and 7-11 first for food items such as tea because their prices will be lower than other airport shops. Quote
