New Members katpat23 Posted July 23, 2011 at 04:09 PM New Members Report Posted July 23, 2011 at 04:09 PM Howdy, y'all. I came across an image of the Chinese police insignia -- a blue shield with some stars and feathers around it -- and I haven't been able to find what the symbolic meaning of these different parts. Does anyone know? I'm particularly interested in the feathers for a novel I'm writing. Thanks in advance. Quote
yzl Posted July 25, 2011 at 03:56 AM Report Posted July 25, 2011 at 03:56 AM China's police badge is a sign and symbol of the people's police, composed of the national emblem, a shield, the Great Wall, and pine branches (seem like feathers). The national emblem - symbolizes that the police are the guardians of national law. Shield - a symbol of the police that defending the people is the sacred duty of the police. The Great Wall - symbolizes that the police is a steel wall which maintains public order and national security. Pine branches - a symbol of the volitional quality of the police and will to fight. That's what I can find and understand. Quote
