Lantos Posted July 24, 2011 at 03:48 PM Report Posted July 24, 2011 at 03:48 PM Hi Visa experts! My problem: in my passport I have a residence permit until 2012, with the purpose of studying (because I paid the tuition to a university in advance). Fortunately It came out that I will have a scholarship for the next two semester, only problem, at a different university. So I have to ask back the already paid tuition, and then go to the police to cancel my resident permit. My questions: 1. Can a local embassy at my home country cancel the residence permit, when I apply for a new X visa? Or i need to go back to the police where they issued my current residence permit? 2. Is there any chance that my new university "adopts" (converts) my resident permit, so I don't need to go to embassy and former university police station? Thank you for help in advance! Quote

Yes, they will just cross it out. Is there any chance that my new university "adopts" (converts) my resident permit, so I don't need to go to embassy and former university police station? I think this is possible. Ask the new university if they can. Quote
