Hello,

Quick question - are there any good internships during the summer in China?

I lived in Thailand for a year doing study abroad with Webster and went to Hong Kong and Beijing and absolutely loved it.

Any suggestions appreciated!!

Tell us where you'd like to be and what you'd want to do. Most internships in China are pretty poor English-teaching, English-editing or marketing-to-foreigners jobs though, and just a cheap way for a company to get their hands on a native English speaker. You'll struggle to find anything of genuine career value.

Area doesn't matter to me (as long as it is safe!)...I just would love to experience the culture again.

I don't mind TEFL, basically I would be open to anything. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also, I am in college at the moment, and am working towards a BA. I will get a BA, but is it possible at all to get a full time job in China without a Bachelor's degree?

Don't bother looking for internships, find yourself a summer camp teaching job. Do that for a month or two, then take your money and travel around for the rest of the summer. And don't pay any placement fees.

I did see this one site recently that was a searchable index of a lot of useful sites. What was it called. Coogle? Gooble? Something like that. Perhaps you can search for it.

Could someone help me out? If you are going to just post "GOOGLE IT OMFG-WAFFLE!!" then I please ask you refrain from commenting.

Sorry, but I don't think you Googled too hard. A search for china summer camp jobs seems to turn up several sites that look promising. How about you begin there and then ask questions here if you want further clarification on something (i.e. whether or not it a given summer camp job seems reputable/reasonable etc).

I assume many users of this forum know some Chinese. I believe some are even advanced learners. Why not visiting Chinese web sites for jobs?

Language teaching job may not be good for you unless you're a linguist. Good sites are like Tsinghua BBS, MIT BBS. These are two BBS sites from two top universities in China. Other popular sites like 51job, zhubajie, etc.
