confucius Posted October 25, 2003 at 09:55 PM Report Posted October 25, 2003 at 09:55 PM You can often add "yi xia" (one under) to almost any verb for politeness. "Qing nin bang wo dasao yi xia weisheng, hao bu hao?" I like to tell store clerks "Mafan nin gei wo kan yi xia nei ge dongxi" Who pays 5000 yuan per month for maid service? My agent in Beijing can hook you up with an ayi from Anhui for less than half that price. Quote
skylee Posted October 26, 2003 at 12:22 AM Report Posted October 26, 2003 at 12:22 AM Why "weisheng"? I think it is not necessary. Quote
Quest Posted October 26, 2003 at 07:41 PM Report Posted October 26, 2003 at 07:41 PM it is necessary, unless both of them were in the same room. otherwise, the lady wouldn't know what to clean. Quote
