xiaohouzi Posted July 28, 2011 at 05:59 PM Report Posted July 28, 2011 at 05:59 PM You're going to the right place! They have outdoor gyms on the beaches (like this: ) which are either free or v. cheap! I saw an unusually high proportion of Chinese bodybuilders in Qingdao and it was the only place I saw a streetfight! Must be all the beer... 1 Quote

Gibbs Posted July 29, 2011 at 05:26 AM Report Posted July 29, 2011 at 05:26 AM This website has a list of the most popular gyms. All of the gyms on this list are very comparable in quality and facilities to the ones I went to in the US. Last year I was quoted 1300 for a year membership at the Impulse club on 福州南路。I heard the Love club on 闽江路 has the best class schedule with everything from yoga, aerobics, dancing, belly dancing, etc. If price is not an issue you will be able to find everything in a gym you are looking for in QD. http://www.qingdaochinaguide.com/sports-recreation/fitness-health-clubs/ If you are looking for more of a "Rocky IV" vibe where the equipment is not top notch and the clientele is a bit rougher check out 玛斯特 (ma si te) on 基隆路。 2 Quote
Hugh Posted July 30, 2011 at 06:19 AM Report Posted July 30, 2011 at 06:19 AM I'm hoping Ocean University has a gym for students to use. Anyone know if it does? Quote
