autocad力扛“打击盗版”大旗

Is 力扛 read li4 kang2 or li4 gang1? The dictionary says kang2 is for "用肩膀承担" while gang2 is for "两手举东西", so in the case of 力扛大旗, should it be kang2? (resting a flag(staff) on the shoulder)

Practically speaking, is either reading/usage much more common than the other?

edit: How about the reading of 扛 in "欧元区合众力扛危机"? Does 力扛 here mean "hold off with both hands", or something else?

in my opinion,

1、力扛 (lift something with both hands) is read li4 gang1, so“力扛XX大旗” means “高举XX的旗帜”.

2、both are commonly used.

3、力扛 here is different from the previous one; 力belongs to 众力(众人的力量)。The following sentence may make it clear.

欧元区合众力扛(gang1; prevent, block)危机

Thanks for the quick response!

1、力扛 is read as li4 gang1, short for 力能扛鼎,so“力扛XX大旗” means “高举XX的旗帜”.

But 力扛 is a verb here while 力能扛鼎 is an adjective. 我以为“力扛”是“用力扛起”的缩写,不知道这理解可算正确不?

欧元区联合众力以扛(gang1; prevent, block)危机

Oh, that makes sense, thanks, I get it now. So 扛 can indeed mean "block".

I think it should be 歐元區 合眾力 抗危機.

PS - I think the 扛 in 力扛大旗 is kang2 - to shoulder responsibility.

oh, you'r right, "用力扛起”makes more sense here.

According to 國語辭典,

gang1 用兩手舉起重物。

kang2 1. 以肩荷物。 2. 頂撞。

”力扛大旗“ would be interpreted as“肩负大旗”if 扛 reads kang2 here. Are you sure “肩负XX大旗” is more appropriate than "高举XX大旗"?

“扛大旗” is a phrase. it means shoulder flag. so in here it's kang2.

In modern chinese, there is a common way of saying "扛住了!"

eg.

A: 快要伤心死了!(heart broken....)

B:哥们儿,扛住了!(kang2, means I know you're suffering a heavey blow(just like some heavy stuff on your shoulder, but you'll come through, so don't be so upset.)

and you could google "扛大旗" photoes ,you'll find out the flag is on sb's shoulder.
