anaiis Posted December 19, 2004 at 01:47 PM Report Posted December 19, 2004 at 01:47 PM hi, I'm trying to find a recipe for banana rolls, but absolutely zero luck on googling it. I only come up with fried crispy things, but the one i'm looking for was definitely not fried. I only ever find them in little bakeries in chinatown, and my trips there are far and few- so i have some dear cravings for the stuff. They were all soft and squidgy and sticky, with some bean paste in the middle...mmm... from the texture it felt as if there was some semolina in there, but I couldn't quite tell. Quote
skylee Posted December 19, 2004 at 03:20 PM Report Posted December 19, 2004 at 03:20 PM Here is a recipe, (the picture is good but it is in Chinese) -> http://www.leisure-cat.com/frm_1254.htm My lame translation is (try at your own risks ) - (10件份量 Servings - 10) 糯米粉 Glutinous/sweet rice flour - 120g 粘米粉 Rice flour - 60g 糕粉 Cooked/fried glutinous/sweet rice flour - 30g 砂糖 Sugar - 90g 暖水 Warm water - 160ml 香蕉油 Banana flavouring - 1/2 spoon 1. Mix the glutinous/sweet rice flour, rice flour and sugar. Then mix in the banana flavouring and the warm water. 2. Grease the container, then pour in the batter and steam it for 20-25 mins using strong fire. 3. Take out the cake after steaming. While warm, cover it with cooked/fried glutinous/sweet rice flour. After cooling, cut into pieces and serve. Hope this is what you want -> Quote
