xiaocai Posted August 14, 2011 at 06:53 AM Report Share Posted August 14, 2011 at 06:53 AM Bonny is right. And also she's right that this is some awful handwriting, I hope this is not your tattoo. Judging by the user ID (waynehoney1982), I think, unfortunately, it is quite likely to be the case.
New Members waynehoney1982 Posted August 14, 2011 at 06:13 PM Author New Members Report Share Posted August 14, 2011 at 06:13 PM Thanks bonny, makes sense now. The tattoo was that of my late father which I want to get myself but wanted a clear version of it. I was also worried that the middle symbol was RICE!!!! As it is very similar! Thank goodness for your help. Does anyone know of a good website that I may get a good calligraphy version of the symbols?
jbradfor Posted August 15, 2011 at 01:38 PM Report Share Posted August 15, 2011 at 01:38 PM I was also worried that the middle symbol was RICE!!!! The way it's written makes it appear to be three characters, with the middle one in fact being rice (米). [And in fact that's how I first read it too.] Does anyone know of a good website that I may get a good calligraphy version of the symbols? The harder problem is finding a tattoo artist familiar enough with how to write Chinese Characters so that it turns out good. No matter how good the font is, if the tattoo artist hasn't studied how to write Chinese, odds are it will look as bad as this.
