I understand the basic meaning as 浮肿, but I get the feeling there is an extended meaning?

Posted

means 你怎么了. I think it's just some people trying to sound funny.

context: a friend of mine just arrived in the US to study. She is really missing home right now. She posts 这里的美弥补了我的悲伤 and receives 你肿么了 as a reply. Based on this, jbradfor would you agree with rezaf?

Here is another sentence I found on the internet: 爱肿么办就肿么办,心里想的肿么办

Rezaf can you tell from the context you found whether it is a feminine way of speaking? or just 幽默

It's from here Probably here it's a girl but I don't know whether it is a feminine way of speaking.

Edit: It's just 幽默, can be a girl or a boy

This is found by the generation after 90s(90后),they always say 你怎么了 to 你肿么了,they are the same, and then 你肿么了 becomes famous and popular in the internet, many try to use it and found it sounds funny,so now if somebody say 你肿么了is just 幽默

There are also many other words young people like to use,the words have similar sound.like fat man 胖子 change to 胖纸 and so on,just幽默

孩子 - 孩纸

小朋友 - 小盆友

Just remember though people, that this is 幽默 in the same way that "orly, lol, can I haz cheezburger" is "幽默", which is to say some people think it is 幽默 and others think it is just poor spelling
