makdiu Posted August 18, 2011 at 09:20 AM Report Posted August 18, 2011 at 09:20 AM Hey guys, new to the boards and wonder if I can get some advice. I'm a US citizen currently in Korea on a tourist stay (90 days). I want to find a job in China, and have some questions about visas. The Chinese consulate here says 'No' for getting the L-Visa in Korea, but that I can send my passport and documents to the US where a family member or friend can handle it from me. Alternatively I can also hire a company to do it. But what about the Z-Visa? I'm OK with making a visa run to HK but would rather go straight from Korea to China, to save a plane ticket. Help is appreciated.. thanks! Quote
jbradfor Posted August 18, 2011 at 04:15 PM Report Posted August 18, 2011 at 04:15 PM But what about the Z-Visa? No. You need some type of invite letter to apply for a Z-Visa. You don't get one to go to China to look for work, you get one after you have a job offer. See here. Quote
makdiu Posted August 18, 2011 at 04:33 PM Author Report Posted August 18, 2011 at 04:33 PM thanks. Yea I know what you need for the Z Visa and what its for. I'm just wondering if its possible to obtain the Z Visa from a place outside China like Korea or Hong Kong. (assuming I Got an offer) I assume it shouldn't be a problem, as I'd just have them specify *where* exactly the visa should be processed. Quote
