rob07 Posted September 18, 2011 at 03:03 AM Report Posted September 18, 2011 at 03:03 AM And you still haven't been to the vegetarian place everyone loves, despite everyone loving it. Which I take as a personal insult. I realise that this event happened in the past. And I don't live in Beijing. But I have just voted for "Vegetarian restaurant that everyone loves but that I haven't been to" anyway. 1 Quote
daofeishi Posted September 18, 2011 at 03:57 AM Report Posted September 18, 2011 at 03:57 AM I'd like to retroactively vote for the vegetarian place and join you, but I'm not sure if that would violate some physical law or other. Are there any fines for breaking the laws of general relativity? Quote
skylee Posted September 18, 2011 at 12:29 PM Report Posted September 18, 2011 at 12:29 PM Are there any fines for breaking the laws of general relativity? I would say "no", provided that you could break them. Quote
Silent Posted September 18, 2011 at 01:13 PM Report Posted September 18, 2011 at 01:13 PM Are there any fines for breaking the laws of general relativity? Not a fine, the punishment is that you'll have to pick up a Nobelprize in Stockholm:) Quote
roddy Posted September 19, 2011 at 08:20 AM Report Posted September 19, 2011 at 08:20 AM General relativity is kind of a white-collar law - if you're powerful enough to break it, you're too powerful to get arrested for it. (esp that eggplant dish!) Was that the garlicky 凉菜? 1 Quote
adrianlondon Posted September 19, 2011 at 08:53 AM Report Posted September 19, 2011 at 08:53 AM When I arrange *my* event mid November it will be at the "Vegetarian restaurant that everyone loves and I've been to before". No need to play around with general relativity, although you did tell me last year that you succeeded. Quote
amandagmu Posted September 19, 2011 at 09:42 AM Report Posted September 19, 2011 at 09:42 AM Well, since I won't be here in mid-November, you could tell me where it is and I could try it now, although my guess is I have probably tried it. I've probably tried nearly every vegetarian place in Beijing since I got here, of the ones I know about. p.s. it better not be that one next to Lama temple, because I swear 9 times out of 10 when someone goes "oh! you're a vegetarian! I know this GREAT place we can go to!" I say "let me guess, the one on Guozijian?" "how did you know?" groan. And it is most definitely not worth the jacked up price of 88 RMB for a sub-par buffet. (Yes, they raised it 20 kuai a few months ago.) Quote
roddy Posted September 19, 2011 at 09:47 AM Report Posted September 19, 2011 at 09:47 AM I linked to it earlier, but here you are again. Edit: Oh, sorry, I hadn't linked to it. But I have now. Take that, rules of time! 1 Quote

adrianlondon Posted November 10, 2011 at 07:43 PM Report Posted November 10, 2011 at 07:43 PM For those tracking this thread (probably because you posted in it!) ... I'm attempting to repeat the fun. http://www.chinese-forums.com/index.php?/topic/35612-beijing-meetups-14-18-november-2011/ Quote
