Meng Lelan Posted August 20, 2011 at 06:03 PM Report Posted August 20, 2011 at 06:03 PM The whiteness is fine by me, due to my vision impairment problems, I have to have an extremely white and bright background to see print. Quote

roddy Posted August 20, 2011 at 07:26 PM Author Report Posted August 20, 2011 at 07:26 PM I've dialed the white down a notch on post bodies - is that better? I'm not going to be able to please everyone, I fear. Quote
Meng Lelan Posted August 20, 2011 at 08:18 PM Report Posted August 20, 2011 at 08:18 PM The degree of white is still good. Thanks. Quote
imron Posted August 21, 2011 at 12:03 AM Report Posted August 21, 2011 at 12:03 AM It's better than before. Do IP.Board only provide one skin? Quote
Meng Lelan Posted August 21, 2011 at 12:26 AM Report Posted August 21, 2011 at 12:26 AM Look how my avatar got stretched out and up. Maybe I'll toss it and put in a pic of myself instead. Quote

semantic nuance Posted August 21, 2011 at 03:00 AM Report Posted August 21, 2011 at 03:00 AM It does surprise me when I revisit here!! Whoa! Guess I'll adjust myself again to the new format! Quote
imron Posted August 21, 2011 at 04:20 AM Report Posted August 21, 2011 at 04:20 AM Could we get the "New" link on the same side as the "Home" "Forums" and "Blogs"? Quote
Lu Posted August 21, 2011 at 09:56 AM Report Posted August 21, 2011 at 09:56 AM I'm already used to it! Just two things: - I agree with imron, can the 'new' button go back to its old place? It seems more convenient to me to have all the tabs in one place. - This direct reply-space is nice, but it's very small, if I write a bit more I have to scroll a lot. Can it be made bigger? The old layout also had a fairly small direct reply-window I think, but the one you got when you first clicked 'reply' was much bigger. I'd be fine with that as well. Quote
Daan Posted August 21, 2011 at 10:15 AM Report Posted August 21, 2011 at 10:15 AM I like this new look, but could someone point me to the page listing all topics with new posts since my last visit? It used to be on the homepage but seems to have disappeared...I used it all the time Quote
imron Posted August 21, 2011 at 10:36 AM Report Posted August 21, 2011 at 10:36 AM Top right corner of the homepage under the search box. Big button that says "New" The very thing that would be nice to move back to the same side as the other links 1 Quote
Daan Posted August 21, 2011 at 11:08 AM Report Posted August 21, 2011 at 11:08 AM Ah, thanks! I agree it'd be nice to have it right next to Home, Forums and Blogs, but this works fine, too. Quote
roddy Posted August 21, 2011 at 12:04 PM Author Report Posted August 21, 2011 at 12:04 PM There's only the one officially-provided and supported skin, and I guess also the mobile one counts. There are a ton of third-party options, free and paid. How on earth do you people cope with Google and its white background, by the way? Can't just be the background, must be text-colour and width and stuff I think. Will move those new and followed links over. Lu, bottom right of the text field - can you see a little icon that lets you expand it? Quote
rezaf Posted August 21, 2011 at 12:27 PM Report Posted August 21, 2011 at 12:27 PM How on earth do you people cope with Google and its white background, by the way? Now that you mentioned that, I think it's beginning to give me a headache too. Quote
roddy Posted August 21, 2011 at 12:31 PM Author Report Posted August 21, 2011 at 12:31 PM Good. There are some font issues with Chinese text I'll need to sort out. Quote
jbradfor Posted August 21, 2011 at 12:50 PM Report Posted August 21, 2011 at 12:50 PM The only issue I've encountered is that when opening up a thread, it no longer takes me to the first unread post. I'm hoping that this is a one-time issue, and it will remember it from now on. How on earth do you people cope with Google and its white background, by the way? I don't stare at google for an hour. roddy Posted August 21, 2011 at 12:58 PM Author Report Posted August 21, 2011 at 12:58 PM Fair point, but try this. Where you finding those links, on the front page, or via the 'new' tab, or? Quote
Lu Posted August 21, 2011 at 02:22 PM Report Posted August 21, 2011 at 02:22 PM Lu, bottom right of the text field - can you see a little icon that lets you expand it?Yes, found it. Would still somewhat prefer a bigger box or a link, but I guess I'll get used to this :-)Also, I see that the quote button has once again returned. Is that intentional? Quote
