Could we get a Xiamen sub forum here?

The CouchSurfing community here in Xiamen is looking for a place to discuss non-CouchSurfing stuff. Since chinese-forums.com is such an active forum I think it would be great if we could build up a general Xiamen presence here rather than start yet another forum somewhere else.

Would a renaming of the current Guangdong & Shenzhen forum to something like The South-East: Guangdong, Fujian, Hainan and Shenzhen work? Or do you really want something only for Xiamen?

Well, I would prefer one about Xiamen only, or as a second alternative one about Fujian. The South-East that you mention is a really big area; if I need to group my Xiamen posts with posts about places as far away as Hainan I can just as well continue using the main forum; there will be no benefit for me in terms of a local community. But perhaps the system is limited to a certain number of sub forums?

We can have as many sub-forums as we want, but I'd rather have a few active forums, even if they do cover a wide geographical area, than lots of forums without many posts in - if you have a look at some of the existing ones they don't see much use. Wouldn't actually do any harm though. . .maybe I should call it Xiamen (and the rest of Fujian).

Oh, I see. I actually didn't take the time to look at the activity in the other sub forums before I posted this. Maybe we could try it for a while though with the name you suggest. If there's very little activity it could be merged with another sub forum later, right?
