Helios Posted September 4, 2011 at 02:32 AM Report Share Posted September 4, 2011 at 02:32 AM Hi All: I currently live in 东王庄 (Dongwang Zhuang) behind BLCU, and the Internet service provided by the community is quite awful. Can anyone tell share with me their experiences with DSL and Cable Internet in Dongwang Zhuang, Beijing, and Greater China? Which would you recommend? Also, which Internet Service Provider (ISP) would you recommend? I found this thread from 2007, but I don't think its information is still relevant today: http://www.chinese-forums.com/index.php?/topic/14169-adsl-vs-broadband/page__hl__broadband__fromsearch__1 Thanks in advance! keitha Posted October 3, 2011 at 06:02 PM Report Share Posted October 3, 2011 at 06:02 PM I have the same problem here at Beihang University. I only pay 20元 a month but I'm pretty sure that the whole campus or at least dormitory is sharing the same intranet. So I'm looking for another solution. imron Posted October 4, 2011 at 05:00 AM Report Share Posted October 4, 2011 at 05:00 AM You could try a 3G wireless dongle from China Unicom. I've been using one on and off for the last couple of weeks and the speeds are acceptable (for China). No problem streaming video from Chinese sites or from foreign ones such as Youtube and the like.
