Sgt_Strider Posted September 14, 2011 at 04:29 AM Report Posted September 14, 2011 at 04:29 AM I'm just wondering what is the mailing address format for Lamma Island like? Is it similar to Hong Kong's? Quote

skylee Posted September 15, 2011 at 12:39 PM Report Posted September 15, 2011 at 12:39 PM Examples in Chinese -> http://www.openrice.com/restaurant/sr1.htm?district_id=4005 (add 香港 at the beginning and they become full addresses) Examples in English -> http://www.openrice.com/english/restaurant/sr1.htm?district_id=4005 (add Hong Kong at the end and they become full addresses) 1 Quote
liuzhou Posted September 15, 2011 at 02:37 PM Report Posted September 15, 2011 at 02:37 PM Just address it as you would any envelope in the USA or the UK. It will get there. 1 Quote
Daan Posted September 15, 2011 at 02:54 PM Report Posted September 15, 2011 at 02:54 PM For those thinking "but those addresses listed in Skylee's post aren't postal addresses", it may be worth noting that Hong Kong is one of the few countries outside Africa and the Caribbean that do not use post codes. I find this fascinating, as I'd have expected a high-tech society like Hong Kong to use machine sorting, but apparently they either have machines that can sort letters by addresses without using post codes, or they still do most of their sorting manually.
