nazreal Posted September 30, 2011 at 11:52 PM Report Posted September 30, 2011 at 11:52 PM Hi there, My mum's coming over to visit me next March in Beijing and really wants to visit Tibet and Chengdu and on a tour. Can anyone recommend a good tour group for her? Although she's Chinese she only speaks English and dialect so English is a must - I've been looking online for some but I have no idea what are good prices (one website has quoted an 8 day tour for 9230RMB) and I don't want her to get ripped off. Obviously if she was a young hip thing I'd say independent travel but I'm really just looking for something that'll look after her well (she's quite old!) and where she can get the most of her money. 9000RMB odd seems crazy much money to me but if that's genuinely what she'll be paying, that's what she's prepared to pay. Advice/comments would be great! Thanks! I forgot to mention she's not interested in the usual Beijing and Xian thing cos she's done that all already and so many include that. Plus she'll be in China already so no need for flights....thanks! Quote
skylee Posted September 30, 2011 at 11:58 PM Report Posted September 30, 2011 at 11:58 PM 67 is not that old .... I have to work with consultants older than that .... I dare not go to Tibet because I got really sick at much less altitude than that ... but I have heard that older people adapt better than younger people. Sorry I don't have information on tours in China. Quote
jkhsu Posted October 2, 2011 at 04:35 AM Report Posted October 2, 2011 at 04:35 AM Since you asked for recommendations. This is a company that my friends in the USA have used. I have no idea about the prices but I suspect that it is more expensive than going with a local one in Beijing. But, if you want English tours, they have them. The two links below are the same company (one has tours in English and the other in Mandarin): http://www.ritztours.com/ http://www.peonytours.com/ 1 Quote
