ankong Posted January 1, 2005 at 04:22 AM Report Posted January 1, 2005 at 04:22 AM I have heard "康定情歌" sang by man and woman together. It's a very nice song. It touched my ear at first hearing. So I'd like to know what this song tell the listener about. I have some problems to understand the meaning of the whole song. There are some words hardly to understand and it is difficult to interpret, for example '溜溜' which appear everywhere in lyric. I looked up the word '溜' in dictionary, there are many meanings, 溜 = glide, slide, slip, smooth, steal I don't know which one should be the best meaning in this song. And I think that it must hide some stories in the song. Does anyone know the story or meaning of this song? Please help me. Thank you. Here is lyric.

HashiriKata Posted January 3, 2005 at 09:30 AM Report Posted January 3, 2005 at 09:30 AM Ankong, I really enjoy listening to 康定情歌. As you like it, you may also like this: 黄河船夫曲 (Song of the boatmen on Huanghe River) Like 康定情歌, you have to try a few interpretations (from Baidu?) to pick out the one you like. Cheers, HK Quote
ankong Posted January 5, 2005 at 12:51 PM Author Report Posted January 5, 2005 at 12:51 PM Skylee, thanks for giving me those links. HashiriKata, thanks for the song. I wonder that '几十几' and '九十九' have the same meaning, haven't they? Quote
HashiriKata Posted January 5, 2005 at 02:34 PM Report Posted January 5, 2005 at 02:34 PM I wonder that '几十几' and '九十九' have the same meaning, haven't they? In this song, yes. They both mean "many" (hardships endured by the boatmen ) Cheers, HK Quote
seesaw Posted January 15, 2005 at 08:09 PM Report Posted January 15, 2005 at 08:09 PM In this song, yes. They both mean "many" (hardships endured by the boatmen ) I don't think so. Yes, 九十九(ninety-nine) may mean "many". (Actually, I don't think it is necessary to explain this explicitly. ) But "几十几", in my personal opinion, simply means "how many". 你晓得……几十几……?……几十几……?……几十几……? Do you know how many ...? How many ... ? How many ...? 我晓得……九十九……,……九十九……,……九十九……。 I know that ... ninety-nine .... ... ninety-nine .... ... ninety-nine ... It's sort of "a question-and-answer song", isn't it? Quote
HashiriKata Posted January 16, 2005 at 01:12 PM Report Posted January 16, 2005 at 01:12 PM in my personal opinion, simply means "how many" You're absolutely right, if you like. Cheers, Quote
