yeng_raimike Posted October 13, 2011 at 09:48 AM Report Share Posted October 13, 2011 at 09:48 AM Hello everyone, I have a problem. I love Rainie Yang and (Mike He) so much but it's giving me so much headaches cuz when there's news and videos about them I hardly understand anything because it's in Chinese... and or because they talk so fast (for me). And now there's another news and it's related to Rainie.. I'm really excited to know what the news is about so can anyone help me translate it? and this video as well... For the video one, could you translate it sentence per sentence so I get to learn something ? Thanks very much... And sorry for any inconvenience (:
OneEye Posted October 13, 2011 at 10:59 AM Report Share Posted October 13, 2011 at 10:59 AM Sure, no problem. But first let's talk about my rates.
imluffy Posted October 13, 2011 at 02:08 PM Report Share Posted October 13, 2011 at 02:08 PM The news is about an internet vote which shows that 林依晨 is the number one idol TV actress nad Rainie Yang is the second. The video tells us the same thing and all of them stated that they don't care about the ranking.
Shelley Posted October 13, 2011 at 03:21 PM Report Share Posted October 13, 2011 at 03:21 PM Well said OneEye. My thoughts exactly. I would like to also draw the OP's attention to the title of this forum: Chinese names, tattoos and Quick translations. How are you able like this person so much if you don't know what they say? Or is it more of visual attraction. Shelley
jkhsu Posted October 13, 2011 at 06:57 PM Report Share Posted October 13, 2011 at 06:57 PM How are you able like this person so much if you don't know what they say? I thought I'd give my 2 cents here. Several (maybe many) years back when I started learning Chinese, I would often listen to online Chinese radio. The radio station happened to play many songs by Rainie Yang. I actually liked her melodies although I didn't really understand what she said or know who she was. I even remember writing down the pinyin to one of her songs (曖昧) so that I could sing it (not knowing the characters by the way). So it is possible to like a singer for their music without knowing what they say or even how they look like. To the OP: If your Chinese is not good enough to understand audio / video or read Chinese text where you can't copy and paste into Google Translate, then you will have to just let that go for now until your Chinese gets better. Even if someone were to translate for you this time, you'll face this same situation in the future. Fortunately, most of the Chinese text online can be pasted into some translation software for you to get an idea of what it's saying. But asking this forum to do this much translation for free is probably not the way to go.
yeng_raimike Posted October 13, 2011 at 08:35 PM Author Report Share Posted October 13, 2011 at 08:35 PM I'm really really really sorry about that. I apologize. I didn't know I can't do it here. Well I can read chinese characters it's just I get confused by what they mean. If you think what I'm doing is wrong you can say it in a nice way you know... If you're asking me to pay you to translate them, then ask nicely please. How are you able like this person so much if you don't know what they say? Or is it more of visual attraction. I don't quite understand what you meant here SHELLY. But that's not my point.. my point is anyone makes mistakes.. and your question doesn't make sense at all.. cuz I do understand them.. the only problem i have is they speak fast and I've very bad Chinese... Well thanks guys for that.. if you don't wanna help me in the first place you shouldn't have wasted your time replying here.
cababunga Posted October 13, 2011 at 10:02 PM Report Share Posted October 13, 2011 at 10:02 PM He wasn't trying to ask you to pay for translation, he was trying to make a joke. The message is: what you are asking for is a way too much to do for fun. Don't take it too personally. Here is your article online, by the way: http://www.shcaoan.com/wy/satellite/78605.html
Shelley Posted October 13, 2011 at 10:40 PM Report Share Posted October 13, 2011 at 10:40 PM I didn't mean to offend anyone. I can understand how you can like someones music even if you can't understand the language. The use of the word "love" in the original post sounded like a very strong emotion to describe liking their music. Maybe this is what confused me. It just sounded from your OP that you didn't know any chinese. if people know some chinese, they usually post what they think it means and ask for corrections, confirmations etc. I am sorry to have upset anyone. OneEye Posted October 14, 2011 at 04:28 AM Report Share Posted October 14, 2011 at 04:28 AM Before you get too worked up over a little harmless ribbing, maybe you should read the rules of this forum. 4) Quick Chinese to English or English to Chinese translations. Please make an effort to work these out yourself with a dictionary or online translation engine before posting, then ask us about what you haven't been able to figure out. Also notice, "Quick Translations". Not "Full-page News Stories Translated for Free". That's a lot of work. So, you were asking for it. yeng_raimike Posted October 14, 2011 at 08:49 AM Author Report Share Posted October 14, 2011 at 08:49 AM Cababunga- Yes, I know. I didn't mean like they're literally asking for payment or anything. And I will not take it personally, of course. Thanks for being nice, and thanks for the article. Shelley- I know that. I'm sorry for reacting that way. It's my fault for not providing some stuff to confirm if my translation of some words are right. I apologize. I also understand that this a quick translation forum, so in the future I will do my best not to ask people to translate a document. I'm sorry. I don't know if you are still willing to help me since I kind of bashed people here already... but I will understand it, if ever. This is how I understand this statement here... from the article I posted above. 林依晨、楊丞琳2年前因瀏海抄襲風波,傳出姊妹淘友誼生變,接著金鐘獎,2人一前一後拿下金鐘戲後,姊妹淘非但不碰頭,還漸行漸遠,最近一項網路票選『偶像劇一姊』 姊妹淘同場競爭,2戲後爭一姊,林依晨再度佔上風,楊丞琳屈居老二,若非林依晨暫退演藝圈,姊妹還有得爭。 最近一項網路票選『偶像劇一姊』,---- In the recent online poll for "drama queen" 姊妹淘同場競爭,--- where these sisters are in the same market competition, 2戲後爭一姊,--- after their dramas competed, 林依晨再度佔上風,--- Ariel once again takes the lead, 楊丞琳屈居老二,--- Rainie being placed as second, 若非林依晨暫退演藝圈,--- If Ariel is not temporary retiring the ebiz, 姊妹還有得爭。 --- these sisters will probably still have arguments.
