Which book is used in Slow Chinese?

Recommended Posts

Recently, Slow Chinese has some interesting articles which say they are from 《中文天天读 – 奇妙的中文2A》, published by Foreign Language Teaching And Research Press. I really like these stories, but would rather have a book which I can carry around than read Chinese on a Web site. I've tried to find this book, but a search on Taobao revealed confusing results. In which book, for instance, can I find the story of KFC's new food?

Does 2A refer to a volume in that series - if it is a series at all?

Yes, it's a series. The 2 refers to the level. Not sure or A has a meaning other than making the number unique in the series. To my knowledge there are 5 levels with two volumes each.

The levels as indicated inside the book are:

Level Length of Texts (words) Vocabulary Number of Texts Prior Chinese Learning

1 100-150 500 25 3 months (160 credit hours)

2 150-300 1000 25 ½ year (320 credit hours)

3 300-550 2000 25 1 year (640 credit hours)

4 500-750 3500 20 2 years (1280 credit hours)

5 700-1200 5000 18 3 years (1920 credit hours)

Thank you. Hmm, it seems relatively recent, published in 2009.
