Kenny同志 Posted October 16, 2011 at 12:55 AM Report Posted October 16, 2011 at 12:55 AM Thunderous Cinderella? Well, to be serious, I can't think of a good name off the top of my head. Quote
heifeng Posted October 16, 2011 at 04:39 AM Report Posted October 16, 2011 at 04:39 AM Let's introduce you to this lil' treasure: http://www.ssa.gov/oact/babynames/ Select a year and you can look at the most popular names (well, given to babies)...and then you can pick one you are comfortable with AND moderate in popularity in recent years. In this way you are not making up a strange name, but can also avoid ~or~ look for the super common ones. Plus it's interesting to see the trend in names. 1 Quote
Guest Posted October 16, 2011 at 08:26 PM Report Posted October 16, 2011 at 08:26 PM Cindy, Christy, Callee/Calli, Sandy, Sadie, Sara.. Alternatively you could also find a name that would suit the meaning of your Chinese name? Quote
skylee Posted October 16, 2011 at 10:52 PM Report Posted October 16, 2011 at 10:52 PM Your initials are XY and I think it is quite nice and quite unique and would suggest you make use of it. Perhaps a name that ends with xy such as these? -> http://www.thinkbabynames.com/ending/0/xy Or perhaps just use XY? Quote
Lu Posted October 17, 2011 at 12:52 PM Report Posted October 17, 2011 at 12:52 PM I fear calling yourself XY would create a lot more confusion than it would solve. Cindy would be the most obvious choice, but there are already so many Chinese girls named Cindy, it would be nice to use something else. Maybe Cecily, Cynthia, Siena, Sylvia? Quote
WestTexas Posted October 17, 2011 at 01:28 PM Report Posted October 17, 2011 at 01:28 PM Sierra. Pretty name, and a word everybody knows, but not super common, and it sounds nice and exotic. Failing that, you could always go with "Master Blaster". Quote
jbradfor Posted October 17, 2011 at 02:05 PM Report Posted October 17, 2011 at 02:05 PM Or perhaps just use XY? Bad idea. People will think you're male. I like the name Cindy. It's common without feeling dated. Personally, I think when picking a name, you should pick something relatively ordinary. Quote
