Chinese characters similar to....

First, I apologize if this is in the wrong forum.

You know how the chinese character, 忍， has that phrase 一把刀插在心上...

I was wondering if anybody knows any other characters that have similar patterns or similar hidden meanings. Where if you break up the character, the little bits describe the actual chinese character. Or something similar.

This reminds me of telling a kid what '洗' is made up. But of course it is made up by me, and it's not authentic though. I told the kid that you have to have water first, so that you can 'wash' (先要有水，才能洗).

Another one is a riddle I heard when I was a kid. The riddle is 自大了一點，and the answer for it is 臭。

For example: 二人相从，三人成从；小土为尘，不正就歪，女子为好。

I don't get this one. Why isn't it 二人相从，三人成众?

太岁头上动土 offending your superior or someone who will cause profound impact on your life if they are offended.

I can't think of more now. To be frank, most chinese idioms answer your question too.

e.g. 鸡犬不宁 extremely noisy

跳进黄河洗不清 difficult to prove that you are not guilt.

I fail to see how these can answer OP's question. What Chinese characters do these idioms represent?

If you read his question carefully, it actually says:

Anyways, there is one I can remember 裕, 就是有吃(谷)又有穿(衣.)

Just found a funny one: 综合门市: 闹.

Oh, this is probably the most well known one: 日月同辉: 明.

Oh, so these kinda characters have a name. I'll check out the links later on. Thanks. I'm going to illustrate these which is why its so hard to come up with anything else other than 忍 for me.

I don't get it. xD What does putting door and city together have to do with noisy?

娶，取＋女， to get a woman.

嫁，女＋家, to have a family.

好，女＋子， having a woman and a child is good, haha!

臭 is just 自 'nose' plus 犬 'dog'.

One of the 会意字 that I find really funny is 家. To have a 豕 'pig' under your 宀 'roof'!

A single tree is 木, more trees make a 林, a lot of trees form a 森.

火 is fire, it becomes hot 炎 when the fire is bigger, and when it gets bigger than that all you can see is flames 焱.

And then there is the classic mnemonic I used to remember 杯: "What's not wood? Well, a cup of course!" I know it is wrong for a couple reasons, but the silly mnemonics always seem to stick better.

If you check the traditional Chinese, you may find any word has similar situation. 安 mean that it is good when you have a wife in home. :-)
