I've got no way of checking most of the figures from this article, but if they can't even get basic facts like population right, I'm not sure I'd trust the property prices they give. The UK foreign office's website gives the UK population as 59.5m, not 80m as suggested here. The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (Unescap) says that according to the 2000 census, the population of Sichuan was 42.88m.

I suppose the basic point they are making still stands (the UK's population density is higher than Sichuan's), but in an article about property prices, I think the figures need to be more reliable.

I'm thinking of buying a flat in Shanghai, but it's hard to say whether it is in a bubble or not. In any case, I was thinking the same thing about this time last year and missed out on huge growth (I think 17%!)
