New Members kiwigreen Posted August 8, 2012 at 03:31 AM New Members Report Posted August 8, 2012 at 03:31 AM Hi everyone, Nice to meet all of you ! I will enroll in tsinghua this fall, and have an accomendation problem too. The schcool told me that they have already reserved my dorm since I am a CSC schoolarship recipient. However I have no clue where my dorm is and when can I check in. Is there any former CSC schoolarship recipient care to give me a heads up? I haven't consider about moving off the campus is due to commuting issues. I had the luck of getting on subway and buses during rush hours. My thought afterward:Do not get on any public transits at that time. Ppl are literally crushing on you.Just when you think you are squished enough, another stop brings another crushing wave. Everyone is pressed against each other. You can even smell their sweat and breath I am pretty proud of myself for not throwing up during the ride. lol Quote

amitairawati Posted August 8, 2012 at 10:18 AM Report Posted August 8, 2012 at 10:18 AM I think there will be only 120 double rooms available.. Not sure how many thousands students will apply for them.. Can we try to apply for waiting list for AB/single room on the 9th of August? Quote
Valeria Piccinini Posted August 8, 2012 at 10:36 AM Report Posted August 8, 2012 at 10:36 AM I think it's possible, but I'd like to do both (book and sign in the waiting list) I sent an e-mail to ask about that but none aswered (yet). Quote
Kike Posted August 9, 2012 at 01:24 PM Report Posted August 9, 2012 at 01:24 PM Hey guys, Do you think it would be possible to check into the dorm at 3 in the morning? My flight is scheduled to arrive at an annoying time, and I would really like to sleep a few hours before heading out into the city ;). Quote
Timtim Posted August 9, 2012 at 02:25 PM Report Posted August 9, 2012 at 02:25 PM I believe the reception desk is open 24 hours a day.. Think I read it somewhere.. Quote

New Members crashbandicot Posted August 10, 2012 at 10:31 AM New Members Report Posted August 10, 2012 at 10:31 AM Valeria: I don't know yet if I'm considered as lucky or not, due to what I've read about the dorms. I've also been talking to iscbeijing.com, who have rooms left. It looks nice and fresh, and the pricing is like Zijing. I'm still consider living there because of the standard of the room. Quote
Okami Posted August 10, 2012 at 12:38 PM Report Posted August 10, 2012 at 12:38 PM I believe off campus is the best option out of personal experience Quote

Flipper86 Posted August 13, 2012 at 01:22 PM Report Posted August 13, 2012 at 01:22 PM today I went to the zijing building's desk to ask whether they have a free room for my girlfriend and they said ALL rooms are booked since last friday. If you live on or off campus u have to buy a bike anyway because it's a huge campus (unless u really love walking) Quote
