oxide2007 Posted October 29, 2011 at 05:04 AM Report Posted October 29, 2011 at 05:04 AM I just bought a stamp with some Chinese symbols on it and it has red ink. It's super cool, I'd really like to know what it means as well. Quote
skylee Posted October 29, 2011 at 11:30 AM Report Posted October 29, 2011 at 11:30 AM It looks like a name - 史泰拔 (shi tai ba). It could be a transliteration of the name steven etc, or a translation of a surname that starts with "s" and a given name that starts with "t" or "d". 史 is a surname, and can mean history. 泰 can mean the Mount Taishan (think the famous panda Taishan, which was named after this mountain and used to be in the Washington zoo), Thailand, peace, etc 拔 can mean to pull. 泰 and 拔 together bring to my mind something like immense strength that can shake Mount Taishan (something like 力拔泰山, etc). 1 Quote
