nipponman Posted January 5, 2005 at 05:55 PM Report Posted January 5, 2005 at 05:55 PM I was reading through LinYuTang's dictionary and I read that it was first published in book form in the 70's. And then I came across the word 由打 which I can't find in my dictionary. Also, I came across a meaning in my dictionary for 就 that seems different from his. LYT's dictionary: "Take advantage of, turn to profit: 就近 [jiu4jin4], 就時 [jiu4shi2], 就勢 [jiu4shi4]4, 就手 [jiu4shou3]↓." My dictionary: "(4) undertake; engage in; enter upon: 就學 go to school. 就席 take one's seat" My dictionary has his, but he doesn't have mine. And also my dictionary doesn't have the "yield oneself to" definition. So all this brings me to the question above. Any help would be apprieciated. Quote
