Posting comments to blog posts on iPad

Has anyone had any success posting comments to a blog post on an iPad? It's never worked for me, although I can create/edit posts just fine.

I just installed the latest upgrade which is meant to have some iPad compatability fixes. Don't suppose, by any chance, that this is now working? If not I'll file a ticket.

Also, Feihong, I remember you saying the Google Site Search pop-up didn't display properly on iPad. Is that still the case?

It's all just more reasons for me to need an iPad . . .

1. I tried to post a comment in the 挑战 blog with my iPad2 just now and it still does not work.

2.The search pop-up results does not display anything when I search using my iPad2.

I just tried posting in the blog using the mobile version on the iPad2 and it did work. So only the non-mobile version does not seem to work.

I'll make sure to try posting a blog comment on the mobile site when I get back from work. Before it definitely wasn't working in either version.

Quite possibly - certainly it was grabbing my browsers cookies.

Just had a random thought about what the problem might be - if you want to have another shot now that'd be great. Or just buy me an iPad, whatever's easiest.

I tried it yesterday, and yes, I can post comments in the mobile version, but then I can't edit or delete them. And there doesn't seem to be any way to get back to the normal version of the site.

Not being able to edit or delete in mobile isn't really a bug I suspect, it's just a less-functional version. I was just going through template changes and it occurred to me that the change I made to make the spoiler tag available on blog comments might be the problem, so I've reversed that - if it's no hassle could you have another attempt. I only did that 30 mins ago.

Nope, still can't add blog comments on the normal version of the site.

Oh, but one thing that does work now: searching. Although for some reason I can't find this post when I search for it.

Good to know search is working - Google's indexing isn't instant or comprehensive, and in particular recent posts might not be covered. Will file a ticket tomorrow I guess.

I turned on error reporting in Mobile Safari and took a screenshot of the errors I get from a blog detail page.

The last JavaScript error, about CKEDITOR, only appears when I click on the "Add Comment" button. I guess that posting blog posts and forum posts works because they don't require CKEditor (when you're on a mobile device).

Thanks. I've filed a ticket now. I think there's an upgrade to the blog package in the works, although the comments bit may be a part of the core package. Anyway, see what they say and thanks for the massive patience.

They've fixed this now (allegedly) but I can't get hold of the patched file until it's released at some indeterminate point in the future.
