Mr. Wat Posted June 14, 2016 at 05:47 PM Report Posted June 14, 2016 at 05:47 PM Hello there, Let's bring this topic to life =) So I contacted Jinan University in May about the Chinese Language Program, they were pretty quick to answer my emails, even though I don't get the answer I'm looking for in the first email but it's ok. I asked them for the visa documents, the : you can take L tourist or F visiting visa to China then College will going to apply for the student visa for you. So you don't have to worry about the Visa. I'm not pretty sure about this method, but South China Normal University, told me the same thing, because the JW202 will take two months to be ready, and maybe it will take some time with the chinese embassy in my country to deliver the visa... so both of them advised me to do it this way. To be honest with you guys, I still hesitate between those two university, but I think I'm going with this one, the comments on this university on this formus are pretty goods, but they are quite old also ^^ Quote
onebir Posted June 14, 2016 at 11:21 PM Report Posted June 14, 2016 at 11:21 PM I don't know about South China Normal Uni, but a Chinese friend of mine did his undergrad (English I think) at Jinan U, and wasn't very positive about the uni or the city... 1 Quote
Mr. Wat Posted June 17, 2016 at 02:02 PM Report Posted June 17, 2016 at 02:02 PM The city I know what I'm expecting, it's a big city so I know where I'm going, I have chosen this city for some personal and professional reasons. and for the school, I had so many reviews about both South China Normal University and Jinan University, both negative and positive, like every others university in China, but I went with the latter because they are more present and quick for answering my questions. Anatoliy Posted June 17, 2016 at 03:24 PM Report Posted June 17, 2016 at 03:24 PM Hi Mr. Wat, I sent emails to several universities too and most of them suggested that option, first apply for a tourist or visit VISA and then an student VISA once you are in China. One interesting thing is that every university has its own time to get the document JW202 so its up to you and where you are going. I dont know about that university but Ive been in Jinan and I dont have any complains about it. Its a good, big and some days polluted city like many others in China hehe. Good luck over there! 1 Quote
Mr. Wat Posted June 17, 2016 at 04:12 PM Report Posted June 17, 2016 at 04:12 PM I still don't know which kind of visa I have to apply for, I asked Jinan University if they can provide documents for the F visa, they said they can do it, I might go for this option, it seems more official. Quote
