panda23 Posted November 4, 2011 at 11:52 AM Report Posted November 4, 2011 at 11:52 AM Hi, I am a Canadian planning to begin a Chinese language program in Chongqing this spring semester. My plan is to do one term and see how it goes, as I am also applying for MBA programs in China (the ones taught in English) for next fall. I have already studied Chinese for 2 years in Canada and consider myself at a low intermediate level. I want to improve my ability, especially in listening and speaking, so that later I might be able to make better use of my skill professionally. There don't seem to be many posts here regarding studying in CQ so I thought I'd ask if anyone has first-hand experience they'd like to share. My main criteria for where to study, aside from the obvious one regarding quality of instruction, are: 1. Friendly and accommodating teachers and staff 2. Nice dorms (i.e., not old or run-down, quiet enough that one can get some studying done) 3. Small number of foreign students 4. Convenient public transit to/from campus As an aside, I'll be paying the cost myself rather than going through the CSC scholarship process, which seems like it can get rather tedious given what I've read on here about it. That's all for now~~ Quote

djkasumi Posted March 12, 2012 at 10:57 PM Report Posted March 12, 2012 at 10:57 PM I'm gonna bump this thread. Is there absolutely no one that studies in Chongqing? I've been searching across the forums and internet to find opinions and feedback about the different schools in Chongqing: all to no avail. I've been to Chongqing for 1 week last summer and I did get to see 重大, but that doesn't help too much. I was originally planning on going to Kunming, but I'll most likely have to find a school in Chongqing instead for the girlfriend's sake. Quote
