It's the 烂 which I'm not sure about. Does 烧烂 mean "burned completely" ? Quote

When I looked up 烂, the meanings I found were "soft, mushy, rotten, worn-out" and "thoroughly, utterly". The first set didn't quite fit so I was thinking it must mean "thoroughly or utterly". However, your explanation of the meaning makes more sense. Quote
