Nnedi Ugo Posted June 18, 2015 at 08:38 AM Report Posted June 18, 2015 at 08:38 AM I am also going to Fudan for one year, but under my study abroad program for the 2015/2016 school year! Quote

sensun Posted July 1, 2015 at 12:19 PM Report Posted July 1, 2015 at 12:19 PM Does any of you know how to contact them? I wrote them a week ago, and they still hadn't responded. I would like they know whether ot not I need to confirm thath I am indeed going to attend Fudan and when they are going to send the documents, as I would like to book my flight, or even buy a suitcase, know if there is any registration for students dorm and so on Quote
洋人丹 Posted July 4, 2015 at 03:30 AM Report Posted July 4, 2015 at 03:30 AM @sensun They generally don't reply to e-mails, your best bet is to call them. Though documents should be sent soon. You won't need to confirm anything unless they contact you asking you to confirm. Registering for student dorms can be done on their website, but I don't know the process. Someone who is already a student there can probably give you more information. I just got accepted for a scholarship. Yay! Masters of Chinese classical literature here. Excited to get started! Quote
Guest charlie2535 Posted July 31, 2015 at 02:30 PM Report Posted July 31, 2015 at 02:30 PM hi all i'm a scholarship student too starting in sept 2015, when is everyone planning to get to fudan? Quote
Nnedi Ugo Posted July 31, 2015 at 03:59 PM Report Posted July 31, 2015 at 03:59 PM I fly out the 30th of August and will be there the very next day. But I have to go to my orientation for my study abroad program. Quote
洋人丹 Posted August 1, 2015 at 10:20 AM Report Posted August 1, 2015 at 10:20 AM Probably going to make the move in the middle of August and take a few weeks to get situated before registrations starts. Seems there are quite a few people going to Fudan on the forums. Quote
Nnedi Ugo Posted August 25, 2015 at 02:54 PM Report Posted August 25, 2015 at 02:54 PM If you receive the scholarship with Fudan, can I take the English courses provided by Fudan while I am there? Does anyone know? Quote
洋人丹 Posted August 30, 2015 at 12:35 PM Report Posted August 30, 2015 at 12:35 PM @Nnedi Ugo If you are a general scholar, sometimes schools have elective courses that you can take (culture, philosophy, etc.) that are in English, but I have no idea about Fudan. What scholarship did you get and what kind of English classes do you want to do? Someone might be able to help with an answer, but only the school knows for sure. Best advice is to contact them or ask when you get there. Good luck! EDIT: Any students at Fudan like KTV? Just finished the move to Shanghai and my wife and I have no friends to sing with. Chinese-Forums Fudan student KTV party? Quote
Nnedi Ugo Posted September 1, 2015 at 12:30 AM Report Posted September 1, 2015 at 12:30 AM I got the Full Scholarship as a Non Degree General Advance student. I want to take really basic classes like history and literature. I am on campus today so I will ask when I go register. Quote
sensun Posted September 10, 2015 at 03:10 AM Report Posted September 10, 2015 at 03:10 AM so what did they tell you? from what ive seen, the only courses available for non degree students are shanghai hua, grammar and chengyu, starting from september the 14th, but i doubt you can get any credits for that, right? Quote
Nnedi Ugo Posted September 10, 2015 at 08:22 AM Report Posted September 10, 2015 at 08:22 AM Yeah. I can only take the Chinese Language. Doing both would be far too much and impossible. I have accepted it and will just spend an extra year at my university. It is ok. 没关系。 Quote
Nnedi Ugo Posted September 10, 2015 at 08:23 AM Report Posted September 10, 2015 at 08:23 AM Transferring the credits will depend on my university. I doubt they will take it due to them wanting students spending thousands of dollars at their university to take courses. Quote
sensun Posted September 10, 2015 at 11:17 AM Report Posted September 10, 2015 at 11:17 AM i see. well, good luck then, i hope that you will have a good time at fudan anyway Quote
jobm Posted January 6, 2016 at 01:13 PM Report Posted January 6, 2016 at 01:13 PM @洋人丹 During the admission process, were you required to take an examination or something? Quote
Chris Two Times Posted January 21, 2016 at 07:14 PM Report Posted January 21, 2016 at 07:14 PM I was looking at Fudan's Master's in Chinese Language and Culture, which appears to be taught in English with some Chinese language courses. It seems that this degree can be supported by a MOFCOM scholarship. http://www.csc.edu.cn/laihua/universitynewsdetailen.aspx?collegeId=130&id=805 Regarding this degree at Fudan, I'm just fishing for any thoughts, comments, experiences. Many thanks. Warm regards, Chris Two Times 2 Quote
ChenZH Posted March 9, 2016 at 04:28 AM Report Posted March 9, 2016 at 04:28 AM Hi all, A newcomer at Fudan Univ here. I would greatly appreciate it if someone who is currently at Fudan and has experience in setting up Alipay (to pay for electricity/water/gas? is there an alternative?) and in registering at the police station (with X1 visa) could spare some time and walk me through the process. I'd also love to find someone to talk to and learn from their experience as well. Thank you and looking forward to your reply Quote
