skylee Posted January 11, 2005 at 05:52 AM Report Posted January 11, 2005 at 05:52 AM All deep fried food is 熱氣. Lychee is extremely 熱氣 (or should it be 濕熱 instead?). Quote
39degN Posted January 11, 2005 at 12:33 PM Report Posted January 11, 2005 at 12:33 PM is 热气=上火? i dont hear 热气 that often. if that was 上火, then 橘子 is one of them, and 梨 is the opposite. what tastes bitter is supposed to be something can 败火. Quote
Claw Posted January 11, 2005 at 03:00 PM Author Report Posted January 11, 2005 at 03:00 PM is 热气=上火? i dont hear 热气 that often. I'm not sure... I just know 熱氣 from a Cantonese context. My parents always say don't eat this-or-that because it's too 熱氣. I know that fried foods are 熱氣, but the term originates from Chinese medicine. What exactly does it mean? Quote

Ian_Lee Posted January 28, 2005 at 07:22 PM Report Posted January 28, 2005 at 07:22 PM Actually westerners have their own remedy against symptoms of 熱氣. Their equivalence of 涼茶 is cranberry juice. Quote
