lonny tao Posted December 8, 2011 at 05:23 PM Report Posted December 8, 2011 at 05:23 PM I have a painting on rice paper with to big Chinese characters that means "long live like a mountain". On the left is something written with small characters but I cannot read it. Anyone who can tell me what it means, thanks. Lonny Quote
Mayu Posted December 8, 2011 at 10:32 PM Report Posted December 8, 2011 at 10:32 PM Probably this: 戚壬己丑年申学子 where 己丑年 is probably the year 2009 (or 1949) and 申 the name of the calligraphist. Quote
skylee Posted December 9, 2011 at 01:03 AM Report Posted December 9, 2011 at 01:03 AM Probably this: 戚壬己丑年申学子 I think it looks more like 歲在己丑年申学子. Looks like 申学子 is the name of the artist. Quote
lonny tao Posted December 9, 2011 at 03:50 AM Author Report Posted December 9, 2011 at 03:50 AM I think they say, the picture was made by Xue Zi Shen. I don`t know that man (maybe that man on the website?), and I don`t know if that is 100% correct. But it is possible that he put his name on the painting. Quote
imluffy Posted December 9, 2011 at 06:28 AM Report Posted December 9, 2011 at 06:28 AM 歲(岁)在已丑年 申学子 It was painted in 2009. And I don't it was painted in 1949,because at that time the painter was only 11 years old. 申学子 is the painter's name. You can find his brief introduction in here. Quote
skylee Posted December 9, 2011 at 06:36 AM Report Posted December 9, 2011 at 06:36 AM 歲(岁)在已丑年 申学子 I suppose it is not 已 (half open on the upper left). It should be 己 (fully open on the upper left). Quote
