jbradfor Posted December 12, 2011 at 02:07 PM Report Share Posted December 12, 2011 at 02:07 PM As you probably know, those are various good luck / blessing sayings. I'll type in a couple -- it's left as an exercise for the reader to look them up 如意吉祥 福临吉地 春滿華堂

jbradfor Posted December 16, 2011 at 02:33 AM Report Share Posted December 16, 2011 at 02:33 AM I was going to say to just look them up in a dictionary -- but to my surprise, I checked in a couple of on-line dictionaries, and they are not listed. I'm pretty surprised. Each word certainly is, but not as a whole phrase. 如意吉祥 / 如意吉祥 -- 如意 means something like "everything as you want it", and "吉祥" means "lucky / auspicious / propitious". 福临吉地 -- literally, "blessing in front of you, luck at your feet" 春滿華堂 -- "joy/love enough to fill a hall"?? 福寿康宁 -- this is just four separate characters, see meanings here
