kavanin Posted January 12, 2012 at 12:13 AM Report Posted January 12, 2012 at 12:13 AM 您看, 这个赶车的, 身体好, 技术高, 能力特别强, 别人都比不了他。 I feel the sentence means something like "no one can beat him" but I'm not sure. What does it mean please? (with a literal translation, if possible) (The original text is here: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/193/clipboard01fh.jpg/ if you'd like to check out) Quote
cababunga Posted January 12, 2012 at 01:59 AM Report Posted January 12, 2012 at 01:59 AM "... can't compare to him". 比 [bǐ] to compare 不了 [bùliǎo] unable to Quote
yonglin Posted January 12, 2012 at 11:29 AM Report Posted January 12, 2012 at 11:29 AM You might also consider adding 比不上 to your vocab list. I don't hear 比不了 very often (maybe I just didn't pay attention...?!), but get the feeling that 比不上 is very common (identical meaning). Or I just pay attention to this expression because I like it very much! Quote
