paperbagprince23 Posted January 14, 2012 at 04:55 AM Report Posted January 14, 2012 at 04:55 AM Hello All, I am currenrtly an Undergraduate, majoring in Sociology and Education, in which my certification will be in History. Now, though, I am more intrested in teaching Chinese as a forign language. Does anyone know how certification works for this. Do I have to sign up for a prgram somewhere, like a degree? Or is there a test I can take for certification? Anyone know of any programs which may offer something were I could dual enroll? Any suggestions, schools, links and personal experience would be helpful. Thanks- P.S. Also, since I am still kinda new on the fourm, I kinda have a question. When should I make post in Chinese, and when should I do it in English-what do you guys usually do? Quote
Meng Lelan Posted January 14, 2012 at 02:04 PM Report Posted January 14, 2012 at 02:04 PM If you are in Kentucky (hmm, I lived in Lexington for four years), contact your Kentucky department of educator credentials. I believe you can apply for a Kentucky certificate in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. Each state is different. You can search for programs using the search words "Kentucky" and "teaching certificate" and "Chinese" and see what you get. For example this is what I got (see below). Maybe you can contact them for more answers to your questions. http://www.uky.edu/Centers/Asia/k12/startalk.php Here we post in Chinese only in the Chinese corner. We post mainly in English outside the Chinese corner unless we have to ask about some word, sentence or paragraph that is in Chinese. Quote
