Noun clause

I'm having trouble with changing the clause of these sentences:

Activity:

Change the first clause into a noun clause, and make any other changes necessary.

1. 那位先生會說英文，他是我朋友。

If someone can first do this one sentence for me, I'll likely be able to understand what it wants me to do!

So I ask graciously if someone can help me here, better understand what this activity wants me to do.

會說英文的那位先生是我朋友。

I'm guessing the above, is the correct change?

Or if someone could tell me if that sentence makes sense, I would appreciate it.

Yes, I think that's the correct answer to the question (or 那位會說英語的...; there is a slight difference in nuance between the two positions for 那位, but I don't think it matters for this exercise; and I am a prescriptivist when it comes to the 文/語 difference!).

I'm using the same workbooks you are using and had the same question.  What you said sounds reasonable, so I'm gonna go ahead and work that way.

don't like "會說英文的那位先生是我朋友。"

 

think

那位会说英语的先生，他是我的朋友。is better.
