New Members pbxed Posted January 19, 2012 at 12:57 PM New Members Report Posted January 19, 2012 at 12:57 PM Hi, I am struggling to put the following hanzi into the correct order and then come up with the appropriate english translation. the hanzi are 你/干吗/干吗/想/就 I think the majority of the confusion is from the 干吗 characters. I have tried to look up translations (to what end? whatever for? why on earth? do what? ) but I can't even see how to form a coherent sentence with the english translation in mind. 干吗你想就干吗? Why on earth do you like doing? (whatever it is you are doing) This is the only thing I can think of. Any help would is greatly appreciated. Quote
creamyhorror Posted January 19, 2012 at 02:33 PM Report Posted January 19, 2012 at 02:33 PM 干吗 = 干嘛 = 干么 = 干什么 你 想 干嘛 就 干嘛 lit. "you want-to do-whatever then do-whatever" = "do whatever you like" 2 Quote
