Went back to my usual blind massage place this afternoon. I've been going there regularly for over three years now. Pretty sure they don't have many foreign clients. One of the older blind guys has a good sense of humor and always jokes around. Today when I arrived, he said in a high-pitched, imitation-female voice: "Nihao, Meester. Massagee?" Everybody laughed. It is definitely an old fashioned, family place.

So did you get your happy ending?

Of course not. That place is all knuckles and elbows. When you say "Ouch, that hurts," they reply "Don't worry, you will feel better tomorrow" and continue digging away. One goes for therapy, not for pleasure.

Seems @icebear is right in #13. How sad.

It's probably worth emphasizing that in China, when one says "I'm going for a massage after work" it doesn't provoke adolescent giggles. Although there are places where one can get sexual services under the guise of massage, it is not the norm.
