yialanliu Posted February 20, 2012 at 02:30 AM Report Posted February 20, 2012 at 02:30 AM In the Life, Work and Study in China in General forum, I was wondering if the subforums might be best to be changed to their respective province. While many people might be living in the provincial capitals, the amount of foreigners moving to other cities have grown tremendously in the past few years beyond provincial capitals. This would allow for instance, the Hangzhou subforum to be Zhejiang sub forum and expats in Yiwu, Ningbo, and Wenzhou would be lumped there as well. The other cities I do not beleive warrant a new forum but changing the format would be good. Likewise, Nanjing would turn to Jiangsu and Suzhou might be best served there. Also, it would flow better because Shanghai, Beijing, Tianjin, Chongqing are at the level of provinces and are treated as provinces in China so in reality, Jiangsu is the correct counterpart. For instance, Shanghai mayor is the same rank as the governor of Jiangsu, not the mayor of Nanjing. Although this isn't important, it wouldn't have forum be weird due to a mixture of cities and provinces. Any ideas? Quote
