iMeng@Meng Posted March 3, 2012 at 07:19 PM Report Posted March 3, 2012 at 07:19 PM usually I can tell but is this page in simp or trad? http://view.17kkmh.com/intro_view/26380/3_d5b5.htm And this one too.. http://view.17kkmh.com/intro_view/20141/5_9309.htm I'm trying to work on my reading and no translation is needed thanks in advance for answering Quote
Demonic_Duck Posted March 3, 2012 at 07:33 PM Report Posted March 3, 2012 at 07:33 PM Looks to me like both are in simp. The thing I generally look for first is characters with 言 as a radical - if it's 讠 then it's simplified, if it's 訁 then it's traditional. Other clues are 见 vs. 見 as character components, and 什么 / 怎么 / 那么 instead of 什麼 / 怎麼 / 那麼. Quote
SiMaKe Posted March 3, 2012 at 07:39 PM Report Posted March 3, 2012 at 07:39 PM I agree both are simplified. 个 vs 個 is another easy giveaway. Quote
大肚男 Posted March 3, 2012 at 09:27 PM Report Posted March 3, 2012 at 09:27 PM yeah, simplified for both. on the first one there was a big 不过, which would have been 不過 in traditional. Quote
jbradfor Posted March 3, 2012 at 09:54 PM Report Posted March 3, 2012 at 09:54 PM Obviously simplified. The very fist two characters give it away: 電視 vs 电视. Quote
freipole Posted March 19, 2012 at 12:00 PM Report Posted March 19, 2012 at 12:00 PM Isn't it a bit unconventional to have simplified written this way (top-to-bottom, left-to-right)? Maybe it was originally in traditional script and later "translated" character by character for mainland audience? Quote
大肚男 Posted March 19, 2012 at 01:05 PM Report Posted March 19, 2012 at 01:05 PM that's because this is a scanlation of a Japanese manga, and people who do this usually keep the original style 1 Quote
imron Posted March 19, 2012 at 08:45 PM Report Posted March 19, 2012 at 08:45 PM Isn't it a bit unconventional to have simplified written this way (top-to-bottom, left-to-right)? Actually it's top-to-bottom, right-to-left for these. Quote
freipole Posted March 24, 2012 at 04:32 PM Report Posted March 24, 2012 at 04:32 PM Actually it's top-to-bottom, right-to-left Yes, of course, no idea why I've typed left-to-right... Quote
