HashiriKata Posted January 20, 2005 at 08:56 AM Report Posted January 20, 2005 at 08:56 AM I'm quite mesmerized by the song below but I've got stuck at understanding some places. Can someone run through the literal meaning of the highlighted lines for me? (You can of course go further than just the highlighted and the literal meaning, if you're so inspired! ) 总是恋着,最初的飞扬, 叹欢乐太匆匆的散场; 枕着夜色,在梦里幻想, 醒来泪水却悄悄地湿了, 月亮。忧郁的你, 黯自神伤,只想再回到梦中央; 昏暗的光,折的翅膀, 窗外的夜却正霓裳. Thanks, HK Quote
Bright Posted January 20, 2005 at 09:13 AM Report Posted January 20, 2005 at 09:13 AM literal meaning ? ok, I'll try. 总是恋着,最初的飞扬, Always remember the first time of fly ( Actually, it point to the feelings like fly) 枕着夜色 Take the dark of night as a pillow (You can simply comprehend it as "in night") 黯自神伤 Be sad and lonely 窗外的夜却正霓裳 But the night out of the window is quite colorful Quote
HashiriKata Posted January 20, 2005 at 11:01 AM Author Report Posted January 20, 2005 at 11:01 AM Thank you, Bright! Most of them seem to come down to the vocabulary, as none of the words (or senses) you mentioned is in my pitiful dictionaries. As a Chinese speaker, do you just get the senses by the combinations of the characters, or will these words be in a good dictionary? 飞扬, 黯自, 神伤, 霓裳, etc. Cheers, Quote
xiaocai Posted January 20, 2005 at 12:28 PM Report Posted January 20, 2005 at 12:28 PM 我的字典上有飞扬、神伤和霓裳,没有“黯自”。不过,“黯自”也不算是一个词汇,不能单独使用。 Quote
ever00t Posted January 20, 2005 at 12:46 PM Report Posted January 20, 2005 at 12:46 PM 枕着夜色 -Sleep with the darkness 黯自神伤 -Im having a bad cases of the blues 窗外的夜却正霓裳 - The scenery in this darkness out of the window is wearing the cloth given by the nion light. Additionally,霓裳 in Chinese always be understood as The scenery from the nion lights that the things look like they wear some types of clothes. Quote
