aedoni Posted March 7, 2012 at 12:22 PM Report Posted March 7, 2012 at 12:22 PM Hi there, My wife is Greek and is applying for A Chinese Tourist Visa in London, and as Greece is a member of the EU she has the right to live and work in the UK without a Visa or Permit. However, when filling out the on-line Visa application form and she selects 'No' for this question in section 1.6: 'Are you applying for your Chinese visa in the country of your citizenship?', then Supplementary Visa Application Form(Form V.2011B) is added which asks for a Visa number and its expiry date. She does not have this information as she does not need to have a Visa, but the on-line form cannot be completed without this extra information. The only way for her to complete the on-line form is to select 'no' to the question in 1.6. Does anyone know if this is the correct way for her to complete the application form? Many thanks! Quote
roddy Posted March 7, 2012 at 12:26 PM Report Posted March 7, 2012 at 12:26 PM Will it let you just put a note in the visa number bit. 'None needed', 'Eu Citizen' or something. And then put some fairly distant future date for expiry. Quote
aedoni Posted March 7, 2012 at 12:32 PM Author Report Posted March 7, 2012 at 12:32 PM Thanks for the reply, Roddy. I guess we could make something up but we were reluctant to do so as it would sort of be like lying on the form and they might frown on this? Quote
roddy Posted March 7, 2012 at 12:35 PM Report Posted March 7, 2012 at 12:35 PM Yeah, but I can't see what else you can do, their form just doesn't take account of all the possibilities. It surely won't be the first time they've seen someone do this? And if there's an 'additional information' section you could maybe add a brief explanation there. Quote
