kavanin Posted April 4, 2012 at 10:58 PM Report Posted April 4, 2012 at 10:58 PM 得 is to be replaced without changing the meaning. 把下面句子里的“得”改成别的词, 使句子的意思不变: 在那样的社会, 不说谎就得遭打, 好人反而不得好报。 For me, replacing is easy, but understanding the sentence isn't that easy. Is it, (1) In that kind of a society, those who don't tell lies should be beaten, and good people shouldn't be rewarded, or, (2) In that kind of a society, those who don't tell lies get beating, and good people don't get rewards? My question: How can I decide whether 得 was used as auxiliary (meaning "should") or verb (meaning "get, result in" etc) in this sentence? 1 Quote

malanting Posted May 30, 2012 at 11:45 AM Report Posted May 30, 2012 at 11:45 AM Your second translation is right. Here the pronunciation of the first 得 is dei(3), the second de(2) Quote
