translation of Chinese characters

I have a Chinese made sword.

There are Chinese characters on it, I think the fabric, or makers name.

Anyone can help me to translate? I like to know what these characters say.

Better photo`s of this are not possible with my camera.

光廣作

利姓

佐州住

This is a Japanese sword. Made by Mitsuhiro (光廣), family name 利 (probably read Kaga or Toshi), from Sashuu (佐州, also known as 佐渡国).

The person that sold me this sword, long time ago, was someone that was doing sword fight.

He had different new swords like this and he said to me: I let these swords make in China.

They are made for sword fighting.

So al those years I was thinking it is a Chinese sword, because they told me so.

But that is not correct at all, because its from Japan.

So why is that person say to me I let these swords make in china?

Strange, but whatever, now I know the makers name, I am verry happy.

I am going to search on the internet for more information about this Mitsuhiro.

Thanks.

Lonny.
