Flying Pigeon Posted April 9, 2012 at 12:51 AM Report Posted April 9, 2012 at 12:51 AM Hi, For some reason learning a word's antonym helps me remember the word. I guess it's a yin and yang kind of thing. I also get to learn two words at once -- a two birds, one stone approach to learning vocabulary. The Tuttle Learner's dictionary in Pleco includes antonyms, but there are only 3,600 entries. The Guifan dictionary lists antonyms, but not always. I've found these online dictionaries useful: http://fyc.5156edu.com/ http://www.chinesehelper.cn/search.aspx But I'd like to use something when I'm not able to access the internet. I've searched the forums, Google, and Apple's App Store, but so far haven't found anything. Do these kinds of e-dictionaries exist? If not, where do you turn for antonyms? Thanks in advance for any recommendations. Quote
Meng Lelan Posted April 9, 2012 at 01:48 AM Report Posted April 9, 2012 at 01:48 AM My teachers in CET Beijing used that approach too, having us find antonyms. The Practical Audio Visual Chinese workbooks also have these exercises. They are very helpful to me even now I'm far past beginner and intermediate stage. I use that website that you posted, but I don't know of others. 1 Quote
