cliveloughlin Posted April 12, 2012 at 12:46 AM Report Posted April 12, 2012 at 12:46 AM Hi there I've just started a new job really far away from the city centre and need to be in work at about 820am every day. It takes about an hour and fifteen minutes from my current accomodation near Xiaoxitian and I may want to rent another room closer to the office. The accommodation here is really cheap. My question is: I'll obviously need to register at the police station for the second apartment (as well as the first one), has anyone done this before? Is it a problem? Will it affect my visa (which used the Xiaoxitian address at registration)? If it's risky, I'll just stay at Xiaoxitian and get up early every day. Thanks! Clive Quote
liuzhou Posted April 12, 2012 at 01:17 AM Report Posted April 12, 2012 at 01:17 AM I have been registered at two different addresses for the last 10 years. No problem. Quote
trevelyan Posted April 12, 2012 at 03:03 AM Report Posted April 12, 2012 at 03:03 AM I think you only need to register at your primary address. Renting a second place shouldn't be a problem unless you're spending all your time there and none at the first. Quote
roddy Posted April 12, 2012 at 08:42 AM Report Posted April 12, 2012 at 08:42 AM The actual wording is, I'm pretty sure, 'within 24 hours of arriving'. There's no mention made of primary and secondary residences, and what the local police station will want you to do is probably anybody's guess. I'd go along and ask (perhaps after renting the apartment - permission vs forgiveness and all that). Quote
